Growing,
buying, preparing, and eating food can be a great expression of ourselves and
our values. It is intrinsically linked to our cultural identity and life
itself. And for some reason we seem to have become distanced from all of it. I
hope others will begin to think about what they eat, where they choose to spend
their "food money", and how that affects their lives, their health,
their community, and the environment.
This blog is about getting back to simply
cooking real food. The prepackaged, prepared, premolded, pretreated food that
we all have such easy access to is affecting our health, affecting our farms
and rural communities, and stressing our environment. I invite you to decide
that what you eat matters, to make informed decisions about food and bring
simple, inexpensive, healthy, real food back into your life.
